ASP’s October event at re:3D offered attendees a firsthand look at how innovation and sustainability intersect on the manufacturing floor. Hosted at re:3D's newest space, which embodies circularity and creativity, the event highlighted how technology can be leveraged to reduce waste, rethink materials, and reimagine production systems.
The networking conversations explored the role of additive manufacturing and distributed production in building more resilient, adaptable supply chains. The attendees toured the facility and discussed how localized manufacturing can reduce emissions, respond more quickly to market needs, and create new opportunities for sustainable design and workforce development.
What made the event particularly compelling was its tangible nature. Rather than discussing sustainability in the abstract, participants saw real tools, real processes, and real constraints. This grounded perspective reinforced ASP’s emphasis on actionable insight - understanding what works, what doesn’t, and where innovation still faces barriers.
The re:3D-hosted event also sparked dialogue around equity and access through their printers and tools. Conversations touched on how emerging technologies can be deployed not only for efficiency, but for broader social and environmental benefit when intentionally designed and governed.
By hosting events in spaces like re:3D's facility, ASP continues to bridge theory and practice by connecting high-level strategy with the people and places actively building sustainable solutions.
